Rhianydd is a Barrister on the North Eastern Circuit. She graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First Class Law degree in 2018 and then studied the Bar Professional Training Course with a legal Masters from 2018-19. At LFLR she is responsible for outreach and engagement.
Peter is a Barrister who began pupillage in Leeds. Before this, he worked for a poverty action charity in Manchester and also spent time at Salford Unemployed Centre representing clients at Tribunals.
Jed graduated from the University of Hull with a First Class Law degree in 2018. He then went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course in 2019. In addition to his work at LFLR, he also works in the County Court dealing with small claims and similar matters.
Sam is a Barrister on the North Eastern Circuit. He graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Law degree in 2016. He then worked at a secondary school before moving to Leeds to complete the Bar Professional Training Course in 2019. Prior to co-founding LFLR he worked as a paralegal for a large law firm, specialising in employment law.
Robert completed the Bar Professional Training Course in 2019. He also works for the Salford Unemployed and Community Resource Centre providing pro bono legal advice and representation for clients of the centre.
Kimberly graduated from the University of Leeds with a Law degree and went on to complete the LPC in 2021. Alongside her work at LFLR, she is currently working as a paralegal.
Kimberly is committed to doing her bit to help people through their difficult times.
Simonay is studying at the University of Leeds in her penultimate year of a Law degree.
Simonay sought to join LFLR's efforts to increase access to legal expertise and ensure those in needs have representation. Simonay feels proud to support the team's aspirations and raise awareness of the professional service they offer.
Eunice graduated from the University of London with a law degree and went on to complete the BPTC with a Master of Laws at The University of Law.
She is inspired by LFLR’s mission to promote greater access to justice and is committed to doing her part in helping individuals find legal support.
Luara graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a First Class Law degree in 2019. She then went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course. She also currently works as a litigation paralegal in-house.
Luara was keen to join LFLR to continue to support individuals going through the legal system.
Having worked in higher education for 8 years, Thomas is changing career into law due to a desire to help people and advocate for them at the most difficult point in their lives. Thomas has recently completed the GDL with a Distinction and is starting the Bar course in September 2021.
Thomas is passionate about access to justice and is committed to LFLR's mission to provide legal advice and representation for the people of Yorkshire.
Rachel graduated from Newcastle University studying Geography and then went on to complete the GDL at The University of Law in Leeds, before studying the BPTC with a Master in Laws. As well as volunteering at LFLR, Rachel works as a Visa Account Manager at an immigration law firm.
Rachel was driven to volunteer for LFLR because she shares the mission of LFLR to be able to offer legal advice and representation to those who need it to help them succeed.
Anika is a Scots Law graduate from the University of Glasgow. Having studied the GDL, she will go on to study the BPC LLM at The University of Law.
Anika joined LFLR as she strongly resonates with the organisation's mission and values. As a Case Worker she is looking forward to helping clients navigate themselves through the justice system and facilitate access to justice.
Eugene studied a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Sheffield before deciding to study law as he wanted to pursue a career that focussed more directly on helping people. He completed the GDL at The University of Law and will be studying the Bar course in the coming academic year.
The work that LFLR takes on is exactly the reason that he chose to change career path.
Jamie initially studied History at the University of Leeds. He then obtained a GDL and completed the Bar course with a Master of Laws at the University of Law in Leeds. He works as an advocate in the County Courts and also with the Leeds Youth Justice Service.
Jamie joined LFLR because he understood the need to promote access to justice in an increasingly unequal society. He has undertaken similar work previously with the Yorkshire Tribunal Advocacy Project.
Jasmeen graduated from The University of Sheffield with a Law degree in 2021 and is currently completing the BPC LLM at The University of Law Leeds.
As a Case Worker in LFLR, Jasmeen hopes to be able to assist clients who do not have access to justice and to provide them with the legal advice and representation they deserve.
Alicia graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences. After completing the GDL, she now studies the BPC at the University of Law.
Alicia joined LFLR with the aim of extending access to justice. Alicia believes that everyone should be able to obtain legal advice and representation, regardless of their financial circumstances, and she is committed to working with clients in achieving this.
Anna graduated from Durham University having studied Criminology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Law in Leeds with a Distinction in the GDL and is currently completing the LPC.
Anna wanted to join LFLR as a Case Worker because she believes that the legal system is inaccessible and she wants to make sure that everyone has access to quality legal advice no matter their background.
John graduated from Cardiff University with a First-Class Honours in Law and is currently pursuing the Barrister Training Course.
He enjoys advocacy and is keen to volunteer for LFLR because the motto of LFLR is a match of his own: to contribute legal skills and knowledge in resolving issues faced by clients and to be the voice of the clients.
Zarqa initially studied Law at the University of Leeds and went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course in 2020. Alongside volunteering for LFLR, Zarqa works as a Paralegal in a high street law firm.
Zarqa recognises that navigating the legal system alone can be daunting for litigants in person. She joined LFLR because she wanted to use her training and experience to support some of the most vulnerable people in Yorkshire and help them access justice.
Having studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at undergraduate, Austin successfully converted to law, achieving a Distinction in the GDL. He is currently studying the Bar Practice Course LLM and aspires to build a successful employment and criminal practice in the future.
Austin was driven to join LFLR to provide a voice for the voiceless, challenge discrimination and hold employers to account.
After a varied career, Marc returned to university to study law. When working in healthcare regulation, he was struck by the difficulty patients would have in identifying/articulating what had gone wrong for them. Without the expertise of lawyers, their complaints might have gone nowhere. It was a reminder that most people need help to describe even the most personal of experiences in a legal setting. He is committed to providing this assistance regardless of the person's financial position.
